The Brothers Grimm fairy tale that inspired Coins Catcher, and how the game reimagines it.
"The Seven Ravens" is a fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm, first published in 1812. It tells the story of seven brothers who are transformed into ravens by a curse, and their brave sister who journeys to the ends of the earth to save them.
It is a story about sacrifice, determination, and the unbreakable bond of family. Themes that run deep through every era of Coins Catcher.
In Coins Catcher, the tale takes a twist. The seven brothers, loyal guardians of a princess, were not turned into ravens: a shadowy curse turned them into seven giant beasts. A wolf, a carnivorous plant, a hippogriff, a dragon, a bear, a sabertooth and a giant spider, each banished to a giant diorama that captures a moment in history. The giant spider of Alexandria is the final boss.
You are one of The Hundred, a tiny adventurer merely 10 centimeters tall, so every beast is a true giant. From the Forest Hub, a sacred forest, you travel through magic portals, face the beast of each era and climb its tower to the Magic Gem at the top. Only by gathering all seven Magic Gems can the spell be broken and the princess rescued.
